Livefast Apparel.

Mike from Live Fast sent us out some shirts and a tote bag. The two designs he sent were a typography based piece (shirt and tote) and then a nice classic English bulldog design. The shirts are printed on Gildan and fit relatively well. I'm wearing the L in the photos above. The shirts have custom/hand-made labels pinned to the shirt tag and came in a custom printed box with tissue paper that unfortunately due to the incompetence of either Royal Mail or An Post arrived too damaged to get a nice photo of.

I really like the bulldog design, the typography is cool too but a bit plain for my tastes. I feel my main issue with what I received was that the money spent on packaging could have been better spent on printing on American Apparel or a more fashion fit brand, even Gildan Softstyle. I'd also have gone for custom printer shirt tags alongside the pinned ones but the pinned ones are definitely a nice touch and reflect the hand-made aspect that Mike wants to get across.

Overall I feel the next release from Live Fast will up their game, this is a good start but with better quality shirts it could be far better. Live Fast is definitely one to watch.

Ok so as of late I've been ridiculously busy. Big things are happening in my life and my efforts for once seem to be paying off. I've dropped the ball on this blog due to that and I definitely owe Mike from Live Fast an apology on his entry not being online yet but expect it by tmrw.

Things you should be checking out:

Give Up is an awesome artist. His blog is great and his webstore is full of bargains.

Eiknarf is a blogger, photographer and designer who's blog/tumblr is full of cool stuff. Also he's got tattoos from Bert Krak so he definitely knows whats up.

Something that's been making my life easier as of late is Threadsy. If you use lots of different emails as I do it pulls everything together, it basically makes the likes of outlook express and outlook obsolete and also pulls my tweets and facebook updates in for me and automatically displays images from them instead of those pesky links.

Mr. Bathing Ape.

Mr. Bathing Ape, a collaboration between BAPE and United Arrows has been launched at the United Arrows store in Japan. The ties look great and would fit a casual or formal look quite nicely. This is another example of BAPE spreading into every aspect of the apparel industry.

Benny Gold Retail Space

One of my favourite brands, Benny Gold. Is now opening it's first retail store in San Francisco on Saturday, April 17th. Alongside the release of the Benny Gold Spring/Summer 2010 Collection, and a few in-store exclusive releases, there will also be a taco truck, skateboarding, DJ’s. Event starts at 2pm with an after party to follow.

BBC/Ice Cream Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

Billionaire Boys Club (BBC)/ Ice Cream a collaboration between Pharell Williams of The Neptunes/N.E.R.D and Nago of BAPE. Will be releasing it's Spring/Summer collection this weekend. The collection features a rose blazer with matching hat, a denim jacket and patterned backpack and is sure to feature clean, cool designs. BBC has really upped its game as of late and it'll be interesting to see what they do next.
